Police Department welcomes new officer

Coeur d'Alene Police Officer Tami Holdahl is sworn in by Clerk Renata McLeod as Interim Chief Ron Clark looks on.

Veteran police officer Tami Holdahl was sworn in as the Lake City’s newest officer on August 4. Holdahl has worked for the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police Department since 2002 and is a sergeant, holding an Idaho POST Supervisor certification. Prior to working for the tribe, she worked for the Benewah County Sheriff’s Office for 3 years as a reserve deputy, patrol deputy and patrol sergeant.

Holdahl is currently an Idaho POST certified instructor in 10 disciplines, including arrest techniques, taser, crime scene investigation, domestic violence and effective communication. She has been an instructor at the North Idaho College POST Academy. Holdahl has served as both Mayor and as a City Council Member for the City of St. Maries from January 2006 through January 2014.
