The character of Belle from the Christian
Youth Theater production of “Beauty & the Beast” will visit the children’s
department at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Tuesday, Oct. 30, as Fall
Reading Programs continue.
Belle will read a story, sing a song, and
pose for photos with children at 11 a.m. – during the Tales for 2s and 3s
program – and again at 4 p.m. in the Seagraves Children’s Library on the lower
level at 702 E. Front Ave. The CYT production is scheduled to be presented at
the Kroc Community Center Nov. 1-11. For the schedule and ticket information

As part of Idaho Family Reading Week the
children’s library will host author Linda Konecny Wednesday, Nov. 7, reading
her book, “Dave’s Thanksgiving,” at 10:30 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. A puppet
show for all ages will be presented that day beginning at 4 p.m.
Fall programs continue through Nov. 16,
take a break Nov. 18-24 and resume through Nov. 30. The library will be closed
Monday, Nov. 12, for the Veteran’s Day holiday and Nov. 22 and 23 for
Thanksgiving.
All programs are free and most do not
require registration. Fall programs include:

Book Babies Lap-Sit: Tuesdays, 10:15-10:45 a.m., and Fridays,
10:30-11 a.m. For ages newborn to 2 accompanied by a parent or other caregiver,
this is an excellent way to introduce children to the sights and sounds of
reading, storytelling, and related activities.

Tales for Twos & Threes: Tuesdays, 11-11:30 a.m. Stories and
other activities for ages 2 and 3.
¨
Music & Motion: Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Charge your brain cells and move your body while you sing old favorites and
learn some new songs. For ages 3 to 5.
¨
Preschool Storytime: Wednesdays, 10:30-11 a.m., and 1-1:30
p.m. Programs geared for the 3-5 age group.
¨
Game Café: Wednesdays, 4-5:30 p.m. For ages 9-13,
this activity introduces children to chess, checkers, and other traditional
board games.
¨
LEGO Club: Thursdays, 4-5 p.m. Free LEGO building
time for ages 5-10 with the library’s huge collection.

Home
Schoolers Game & Activity Hour:
For home-schooled children ages 5 and up and a parent or other adult caregiver.

Children under 6 visiting the
library need to be supervised by an adult or a person who is at least 14 even
during programs. Children ages 6-9 should be accompanied by someone who is at
least 14 who will remain in the building.
