On May 7, 2009 at 9:20 p.m. Coeur d’Alene Police officers responded to the 1800 block of Legends Parkway for the report of a battery that had just occurred. The reporting party stated that two females had been fighting. One of them is his downstair's neighbor. He said she was currently at his doorstep and bleeding from the face but was refusing medical attention. He said the female appeared to be very intoxicated.Officers contacted the 39-year-old female inside the reporting party's (RP) apartment. Officers questioned the female as to how she obtained her injuries. She was uncooperative and belligerent. Officers were concerned that she was possibly the victim of a domestic dispute. They asked for her cooperation and she yelled profanities at them.
Due to children being present, officers suggested they all go downstairs to her apartment and leave the RP’s apartment. The female was unsteady as she walked to the door. One of the officers attempted to open the door handle for her and she struck his hands. Officers escorted her outside and she turned and swung at one of them. The officer deflected her punch and both officers took her to the ground to control her movement. The female sustained a facial injury to her left eye area during the take-down. She was treated a Kootenai Medical Center for her injuries. Charges will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office for two counts of battery on a police officer.
