Water Conservation News

The Water Department will be participating in the community garden to be developed at 10th and Foster. As a water conservation demonstration project, the utility will be funding the purchase of material for the irrigation system and some plants for the Xeriscape garden. Both will be examples of how homeowners can reduce their water consumption for yards and gardens. Water Superintendent Jim Markley will also be on the April 7th City Council agenda with Korrine Kreilkamp of the Kootenai Environmental Alliance (KEA) to make a presentation about this project and other ways the City and KEA are promoting conservation and wise water use.
